RingCentral pricing, price hikes and cheaper alternatives
RingCentral (ringcentral.com) is a business phone system. Per-user monthly subscription in three RingEX tiers (Core, Advanced, Ultra), cheaper on annual billing; each tier includes a set SMS allowance per user.. No free plan.
What RingCentral costs
- 1 user: $45/mo (Core $30/mo (monthly billing) covers calling and a local number but includes only 25 SMS/user/mo, Advanced 100; extra SMS has no published rate, so Ultra $45/user (200 SMS/user/mo) is the cheapest plan that fully covers 200 texts. Calling-only would be Core $30.)
- 10 users: $450/mo (Ultra $45/user x 10 = $450 (2,000 texts needs 200 SMS/user; Advanced 100/user x 10 = 1,000 falls short). Call queues are included on all tiers; Core $30 x 10 = $300 would cover calling only.)
Plan compared: Ultra (cheapest tier whose included 200 SMS/user/mo covers the scenario). Prices are USD per month on monthly billing for one user, or a 10-person team sharing a main number, each user with a local US number, about 1,000 calling minutes and 200 texts a month; taxes, regulatory and 10DLC fees, hardware and promos are excluded. Annual-only plans are shown as the annual price divided by 12, and phone add-ons that need a suite licence (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365) are priced without the suite.
