iCloud+ pricing, price hikes and cheaper alternatives

iCloud+ (icloud.com) is a cloud storage service. Flat monthly storage tiers from 50 GB to 12 TB, with Family Sharing for up to five other people on every paid plan.. Free plan: 5 GB free for backup and sync only; Private Relay, Hide My Email and HomeKit Secure Video need a paid plan..

What iCloud+ costs

  • 1 user, 1 TB: $9.99/mo (2 TB plan at $9.99/mo, the cheapest plan with at least 1 TB. Apple One Premier also includes 2 TB but is reported at $39.95/mo by several outlets, so it is not cheaper.)
  • 10 users, 1 TB: no public price (Null: iCloud+ is a consumer service with no team plan on Apple's iCloud page. Family Sharing does not count.)
  • 20 GB transfers: $2.99/mo (200 GB plan at $2.99/mo, the cheapest plan with at least 200 GB, treated as a storage/sync product. Apple's iCloud Drive sharing guide says whoever holds a link can download, and no link expiry timer was found. Per-file cap reported as 50 GB (one July 2026 report says 100 GB), so a 20 GB file fits. No published download cap. Shared files count against the 200 GB quota, so about two weeks of 20 GB transfers must be deleted as they go.)

Plan compared: iCloud+ 2 TB plan at $9.99/mo (US list price). Prices are USD per month on monthly billing (annual-only plans divided by 12) for the cheapest plan that fits each scenario: one person storing 1 TB (or backing up a computer with 1 TB), a 10-person team sharing 1 TB with admin controls, and one person sending twenty 20 GB files a month by link. A free plan counts as $0 only when it fully covers the scenario; lifetime deals and first-year discounts are ignored.
