Supabase pricing, price hikes and cheaper alternatives
Supabase (supabase.com) is a database platform. One monthly plan fee (Pro from $25) plus hourly-billed compute per project, with pay-as-you-go overage for disk, egress and monthly active users.. Free plan: Free plan: 500 MB database, 2 active projects, 5 GB egress, 50,000 MAU, no backups; pauses after 1 week idle..
What Supabase costs
- 10 GB app: $25.25/mo (Pro $25 + Micro compute $10 (1 GB RAM, the smallest qualifying size) minus the $10 Pro compute credit = $0; extra disk 2 GB (10 GB minus 8 GB included) x $0.125 = $0.25; total $25.25. Egress of 20 GB is inside the 250 GB allowance, 7-day backups are included, and neither page lists a per-query charge.)
- Side project: free (Free plan = $0. The 500 MB disk holds 250 MB, 5 GB egress covers 1 GB, and backups are not needed. The free project pauses only after 1 week idle, which daily use avoids.)
- 100 GB app: $86.50/mo (Pro $25 + Medium compute $60 (4 GB RAM, the smallest size with at least 4 GB) minus the $10 credit = $50; extra disk 92 GB (100 GB minus 8 GB included) x $0.125 = $11.50; egress 200 GB is inside 250 GB; team members are unlimited on Pro, so 3 developers add $0; total $86.50.)
Plan compared: Pro plan ($25/mo) with one Micro compute instance (covered by the $10 credit) and 10 GB of disk.. Every price is the monthly cost, at list prices on monthly billing, of running the same app database in a US region: a 10 GB production app (the headline), a 250 MB side project and a 100 GB growing app, each with a fixed number of reads, writes and developers, on the cheapest self-serve plan that fully covers it. Free plans count when they cover the whole job and allow production use; trials and sign-up credits do not.
