RDS adds a per-vCPU-hour fee for PostgreSQL 12 after standard support
PostgreSQL 12 standard support ends 2025-02-28. In US East (Ohio), instances still on it pay $0.100 per vCPU-hour from 2025-03-01 to 2027-02-28, then $0.200 from 2027-03-01.
What changed
- Price increase, Mar 1, 2025
- Before: No Extended Support fee while PostgreSQL 12 was in standard support
- After: $0.100 per vCPU-hour (US East Ohio) from 2025-03-01; $0.200 from 2027-03-01
- Existing customers: Instances still on PostgreSQL 12 after 2025-02-28 pay the fee; upgrading to a supported major version avoids it. The page shows no exemption.
