Figma pricing, price hikes and cheaper alternatives

Figma (figma.com) is a design tool. Per-seat monthly subscription by plan: each editor (full seat) pays, dev and collab seats cost less, and viewers need no paid seat.. Free plan: Starter is free with unlimited drafts, but one folder holds up to 3 combined Design and Sites files, 3 FigJam and 3 Slides files..

What Figma costs

  • 1 user: $20/mo (Professional full seat at $20/mo month-to-month. Starter fails the unlimited-files test (one folder capped at 3 combined design/Sites files). Annual $16/mo is not used because a monthly option exists. Figma is not AI-first, so the AI-generation floor does not apply.)
  • 10 users: $200/mo (10 editors x $20/mo month-to-month on Professional = $200. Professional has no seat cap or minimum, so no enterprise quote is needed.)

Plan compared: Professional plan, full editor seat, month-to-month billing ($20). Cheapest self-serve plan, billed month to month (annual price ÷ 12 when only an annual commitment is sold), that lets each editor make unlimited designs and export them for commercial use with no watermark, in the formats the tool's job needs (PNG plus SVG or PDF for graphics, shareable prototypes for UI tools). AI-first generators must include 100 generations a month; viewer, developer and guest seats are not counted.

The $16 annual price matches the official page and PricingSaaS, but the $20 monthly price and the $15 pre-2025 monthly price rest on one newsletter, since the official capture showed only the annual toggle state.
